Very pleased with their work, I had a small job of extending my sump pump discharge to the end of my yard but because of our property elevation and size it was not as straightforward as it seemed. Ethan took the time to shoot elevations with his laser, talk through several options and costs with me and determine the best long term solution that would fix our mud puddle issue. When he came to do the work he was on time, worked efficiently and communicated with me throughout the job. He made sure the job was done to completion and didn’t leave any loose ends undone. Don’t let the fact that he’s young deter you- Ethan knows what he’s doing and works with expertise and experience beyond his years. Short Excavating just finished up doing an extensive drainage project for me. My project involved connecting a total of 7 downspouts, a yard drain, and a sump pump line into two separate 6 inch lines on each side of my house to run into a large ditch. In total, it was approximately 700 feet of SDR35. Tunneling under a sidewalk and around utilities was involved. Short Excavating exceeded my expectations at every step of the large project. What really stood out was the attention to detail. The owner was very particular about having the perfect slope, certain connections that would be easier to clean (if ever needed), bedding in stone to prevent settling, animal guards, and he even installed cleanouts every 100 feet in case I would ever need to clean them out. He used all gasketed pipe which is a lot more root resistant than glued. He also installed a large heavy-duty yard drain where I frequently experienced pooling out in the yard. The drain was very heavy duty (concrete and cast iron). Everything was so meticulous, I know that I will never have drainage problems again.
